Hey I'm Maggie!
This blog is basically just for me to share with you whatever I want. (heh, aren't all blogs?) I like trying to do things a bit crunchy. Don't know what crunchy is? It's like modern hippie. . . . ish. . . . I cloth diaper my kids, I breastfeed for as long as possible, I use doTERRA Essential Oils and am a Wellness Advocate for them. I like trying and using natural things when I can. I think all women should be free to try for a natural, non medicated child birth. I want to be an advocate for women, especially those who are pregnant and/or mothers. One day I hope to be a Doula and eventually even a Midwife. For now I am empowering others to be healers in their homes using natural forms of healthcare, such as Essential Oils.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-doctor/modern medicine ect. My husband, Paul, is a Type 1 Diabetic. He was diagnosed when he was age 4. Trust me, I am very grateful for doctors and modern medicine. Without it, my husband would have died long before I met him.
I just think that there can be a great balance between natural forms of healthcare and modern medicine. Doctors offices and hospitals are already overflowing. If I can take care of something at home (cold, sore throat, etc.) using natural things then why not do it? It avoids having to shovel out more money, and it helps doctors treat patients who need much more attention than my kids cold. And if whatever they are dealing with is more than just natural things can take care of, then great, I will go to the doctor! I believe that can work hand in hand beautifully together to help people.
Anyway, a little more about me. I've been married for about 6 years. I have two boys, ages 4 and almost 2. I have a dog, a beautiful border collie/pit bull mix. One day I hope to live out in the boonies, on about 10 acres. For now I'm in a little rural town with about 1,000 people, surrounded by farms. It's as close as I can get to my dream house for now.
Well, I'm out of stuff to write, and I have to make dinner. See ya later!
I love it! I also use the oils, they are amazing! I can't wait to hear more about your crunchiness :)
